Life and career
Stefanie Höner grew up in Dortmund. After completing her training at the Bochum Drama School in 1992, she was a permanent member of the ensemble of the Württembergische Landesbühne Esslingen from 1995 to 1997. She has played at the Hamburger Kammerspiele, the Thalia Theater and the Volksbühne Berlin, among others.
Laborlavache theatre group
In 1999, Stefanie Höner founded the Laborlavache theatre group together with director Christiane Pohle. Her performance Sitzen in Hamburg, an adaptation of Chekhov's play The Three Sisters, was acclaimed by critics and audiences alike and has won several awards (Impulse Prize 2000 Theatre Festival, 2001 Young Talent Award for Directing of the German Academy of Performing Arts and the City of Bensheim). The group's second production, Summer Guests by Maxim Gorki, at the Schauspielhaus Zürich, was also praised.
Stefanie Höner became known to a wider audience through her portrayal of Inka Pietsch in the television series Verliebt in Berlin and Britt Schmitt in girl friends – Freundschaft mit Herz.
