Sean William Walter Brosnan was born in southern California on September 13th in 1983. He is the son of actor Pierce Brosnan and the late Cassandra Harris, talented and beautiful actress im memoriam.

Sean was born into fame, as both his parents had successfully made names for themselves by the time he arrived. His father was firmly established as Remington Steele and his mother was a renowned character actress.

In 1987 Sean`s mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and after a four year struggle, the family lost the battle. Cassandra passed away in late December 1991. One can only vaguely imagine the agonizing turmoil of those four years. Sean was just a small child, and terminal illness, death and abandonment were to be some of his earliest impressions of life. When he talks about those years today, he paints the picture of a confused and hurting little boy who retreated behind a very aggressive demeanour in order to cope when he thought that his mother no longer loved him. The mode of his childhood and adolescence became one of insecurity, distrust and nonconformity. Grownups were clearly not to be relied upon, but then neither were ones peers; "I never knew who was a real friend, or who just wanted to know me because of my father".

Sean made his debut as an actor in 1995, playing the cabin boy in the video film Robinson Crusoe. But his days as a mascot on the set would soon be over, as he was sent to the Millfield School in Somerset, U.K.

In April of y2k he was one of the casualties in a car accident in hillside California. The story made quite a few headlines, probably in part because several of the teenagers, among them the driver, had been drinking alcohol, and not all of the passengers were buckled up... Sean, it would seem, was one of the latter. He was very badly hurt, having suffered multiple fractures to the pelvis and spine and damaged several internal organs. Following extensive surgery, he was in a coma for two weeks and he remained in hospital for six months. Being immobilised for months induced him to come to terms with his dysfunctional upbringing, to examine his sense of self and to re-define himself by accepting his value as an individual.

It was believed that he might not be able to walk again. But Sean was resolved to challenge that diagnosis, and possibly that angry defiance developed since early childhood, that has otherwise been the cause of so much trouble, now proved an asset. In the autumn of y2k he was back at Millfield - walking, and in December of that year he was recuperated enough to once again get into mischief.

Mykindaplace.com gives the following account of what happened;

"While a pupil at top posh public school Millfields in Somerset, Sean - then 17 - was suspended after viciously attacking a fellow pupil. The victim had apparently said something about Sean`s girlfriend, so he ambushed him and left him with minor ear injuries. Handsome Pierce defended his son all the way, claiming he had simply acted honourably."

Well, since Sean used to be into boxing, he would know how to throw a painful punch, so maybe the other guy should be glad to have sustained nothing worse than a ruffled ear. Anyway, Sean got suspended for a term.

Back at Millfield once more, Sean frequented the gym, supposedly to keep fit. And one day while doing his workout he "ripped his gut", as the media would have it. He was whisked into hospital, with "an obstruction of the small intestine and peritonitis" (said Showbiz Ireland), for yet another date with the surgeon. In response to this news, Carol Midgley wrote an open letter in the Viewpoint. Read it here.

Having learned some quite substantial lessons about the vulnerability of man, and probably some English litt and all that other stuff too, Sean eventually completed his education. He left Millfield with his A-levels in the summer of 2k2 and set out for London to learn his trade.

Not wishing to ride on the coat-tails of his father`s fame, he used an assumed name when trying out for drama school. So he entered the Central School of Speech and Drama entirely on his own merits and spent the following couple of years as an acting student there. When he graduated in the summer of 2k5, he had added Brenden to his name.

He is said to be an accomplished writer of both poetry and prose. He is also a singer, formerly a member of the rock band `Leatherbelly`. "We`re like Portishead meets Rage Against the Machine", said Sean in an interview with TeenVogue magazine (autumn 2k4). The band launched their music on the internet in 2k5 and rapidly acquired quite a following. With astonishing speed Sean has thus been making a name for himself both on the musical scene and in the theatrical world.

After his graduation from the CSSD, Sean appeared in several short films (click on the "Actor" button below for more). He also did a guest appearance on the TV show `the Dubplate Drama`. The
