stars  First child, daughter Ariel, sadly passed away from complications of AIDS in August of 1988. She contracted HIV via breast milk when her mother, Elizabeth, was not aware she had contracted HIV via a blood transfusion. Her second child, Jake, contracted HIV in Elizabth's womb. He is still alive and in reasonable good health as of Dec 2010.

stars  First wife Elizabeth contracted HIV after an emergency blood transfusion, right after giving birth to Ariel. Elizabeth passed away from complications from AIDS in 1995.

stars  Directed a PSA spot on AIDS awareness in 1989, starring a soon-to-leave-office President Ronald Reagan.

stars  Met first wife Elizabeth in June, 1975, while driving down Santa Monica Boulevard in Hollywood. They smiled at each other, then Paul motioned for Elizabeth to pull over, where he invited her out for Chinese food. Elizabeth moved in with Paul three months later in September, 1975.
