First Bourne film where Tony Gilroy isn't involved in and won't be writing the script.

Matt Damon has stated numerous times that he would only return to the Bourne franchise to reprise his role as Jason Bourne if Paul Greengrass would return for directorial duties on the project. Damon & Greengrass announced their return to the franchise in November 2014 for a new installment.

This will be Tommy Lee Jones' third action movie coming in 2016. The first movie will be Mechanic: Resurrection (2016) and the second movie will be Criminal.

YouTube channel CinemaSins wrote a letter to Paul Greengrass and Matt Damon about how they should make another Bourne. Later, Matt Damon wrote said he would do another Bourne.

Jeremy Renner's character, Aaron Cross, will not be in this new Bourne film, but he will have his sequel after this film is released

Tommy Lee Jones is confirmed as Damon's CIA counterpart. In the previous movies actors such as Chris Cooper, Joan Allen, David Strathairn, and Edward Norton have played this role.

Jeremy Renner's Bourne movie was supposed to have the release date for July 2016 with Justin Lin directing but then after Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass said they're going to make another one they took the release date because fans wanted to see the return of Jason Bourne so that means Renner's Bourne movie will happened at another time somewhere in 2020 or 2022.

Matt Damon would not voice Jason Bourne in the game The Bourne Conspiracy (2008) because he said it was too violent. So this is the first time he's played Jason since The Bourne Ultimatum (2007).

Alicia Vikander is in talks to play the female leading role.

Paul Greengrass and his longtime editor Christopher Rouse are said to have a strong concept for where Jason Bourne could go next after what occurred in the conclusion of The Bourne Ultimatum (2007) which concluded the Bourne trilogy. In fact, Greengrass and actor Matt Damon have been mulling over the idea for more than a year.

So far all four movies have been going in the title order of the books so this installment could be titled The Bourne Betrayal.

This will be the first time since The Bourne Ultimatum (2007) that Matt Damon reprises his role as Jason Bourne after concluding the Bourne trilogy. It will also be the first time for Paul Greengrass to return at the helm of a Bourne film since the second installment of The Bourne Supremacy (2004) & the concluding installment of The Bourne Ultimatum (2007).

This will be Alicia Vikander's second spy movie. Her first was The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015).

The trailer premiered at the 50th Super Bowl.

The films title "Jason Bourne" was announced on February 7th, 2016, the same day its first teaser trailer came out
