Bob Smalhout (13 October 1927 – 2 July 2015) was a Dutch physician, professor and author. Smalhout, an anesthesiologist, worked at the Utrecht Academic Hospital and the Utrecht University. Smalhout was the Lijsttrekker (top candidate) for the Pim Fortuyn List (LPF) party for the Dutch Senate election of 2003. Smalhout was the son of Elias Smalhout and came from a Reform Judaism family.

Cathy Hilde Raymond Berx (born 8 January 1969 in Berchem) is a Belgian Christian Democrat politician, jurist and governor of the province of Antwerp. Cathy Berx is married to Johan Meeusen, vice-rector and professor of European Law at the University of Antwerp, and has 2 children.

Luc Soete (born 15 September 1950, Sint-Jans-Molenbeek) is a Belgian economist, former Rector Magnificus and professor of International Economic Relations at the School of Business and Economics, Maastricht University, and former director of UNU-MERIT, a joint research institute of the United Nations University (UNU) and Maastricht University. Luc Soete is a member of the Dutch scientific advisory body (AWTI) and the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) since 2010.

Cas Mudde (born 3 June 1967) is a Dutch political scientist who focuses on political extremism and populism in Europe and the United States. His research includes the areas of political parties, extremism, democracy, civil society and European politics.

Christine, Baroness Van den Wyngaert (born 2 April 1952) is a Belgian jurist and judge. She served as international and comparative criminal law expert from 2009 to 2018 as a judge on the International Criminal Court. She served in the Trial Division Chamber. On 8 July 2013, Van den Wyngaert was ennobled by King Albert II of Belgium as a baroness for her services as a judge. From 2003 to 2005 she was a Judge at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, and from 2000 to 2002 an ad hoc judge on the International Court of Justice.

Christine Van Broeckhoven (born 9 April 1953) is a Belgian molecular biologist and professor in Molecular genetics at the University of Antwerp (Antwerp, Belgium). She is also leading the VIB Department of Molecular Genetics, University of Antwerp of the Flanders Institute for Biotechnology (VIB). Christine Van Broeckhoven does research on Alzheimer dementia, bipolar mental disorders and other neurological diseases. Since 1983 she has had her own laboratory for molecular genetics at the University of Antwerp, and since 2005 is focussing her research on neurodegenerative brain diseases. She is an associate editor of the scientific journal Genes, Brain and Behavior.

Marc, Baron Bossuyt (born 9 January 1944 in Ghent) is a member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague and a former judge at the Belgian Constitutional Court.

Frank Ignace Georgette Vandenbroucke (born 21 October 1955 in Leuven) is a Belgian, Flemish academic and former politician of the Different Socialist Party (SP.A). His father, Jozue Vandenbroucke (1914–1987), was vice-rector of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (medicine).

Peter Karel Piot, Baron Piot, KCMG, FRCP, FMedSci (born 17 February 1949) is a Belgian microbiologist known for his research into Ebola and AIDS. Piot is the director of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Koen Vandenbempt (born ca. 1970) is a Belgian organizational theorist, business executive, and Professor of Strategy at the University of Antwerp and Antwerp Management School, particularly known for his work on business-to-business marketing and service strategies.
