Milena Maria Radecka (née Sadurek-Mikołajczyk, née Sadurek) (born 18 October 1984) is a female Polish volleyball player, a member of Poland women's national volleyball team and Polish club Impel Wrocław, a participant of the Olympic Games Beijing 2008, bronze medalist of European Championship 2009), Polish Champion (2004, 2011).

Józef Jerzy Kukuczka (24 March 1948 in Katowice, Poland – 24 October 1989 Lhotse, Nepal) was a Polish alpine and high-altitude climber. Born in Katowice, his family origin is Silesian Goral. On 18 September 1987, he became the second man (after Reinhold Messner), to climb all fourteen eight-thousanders in the world; a feat which took him less than 8 years to accomplish. He is the only person in the world who has climbed two eight-thousanders in one winter. Altogether, he ascended four eight-thousanders in winter, including three as first ascents. Along with Tadeusz Piotrowski, Kukuczka established a new route on K2 in alpine style (the so-called "Polish Line"), which no one has repeated.

Edward Jan (or Ewald Oskar) Dytko (18 October 1914 – 13 June 1993) was a Polish football player, who, when his home country became Poland by Treaty of Versailles represented the no longer existing team of Dąb Katowice, also in 1935-39 he played in the Polish National Team.

Krzysztof Ireneusz Warzycha (Greek: Κριστόφ Βαζέχα; born November 17, 1964) is a former Polish professional footballer. For the majority of his career he played for Greek club Panathinaikos.

Ewa Trzebińska (née Nelip) is a Polish épée fencer. She earned a silver medal at the 2017 World Championships, silver medal in the 2009 World Championships and won the team gold medal at the 2010 European Fencing Championships.

Aleksandra Olsza (8 December 1977) is a retired Polish tennis player. Her career highlights include winning of 1995 Wimbledon Championships in both girls' singles and doubles. At the 1996 U.S. Open Olsza defeated World No. 12 Magdalena Maleeva.

Richard Herrmann (28 January 1923 in Katowice, Poland – 27 July 1962) was a German football player. He played for the clubs 1. FC Kattowitz (1934–1945) and FSV Frankfurt (1947–1960).

Ernest Willimowski (born Ernest Otto Prandella, nicknamed "Ezi") (23 June 1916 – 30 August 1997) was a German–Polish football player, who played as a forward. He ranks among the best goalscorers in the history of both the Poland national team and Polish club football. After re-taking German citizenship following the invasion of Poland, he also played for the Germany national team.

Agnieszka Niedźwiedź is a Polish mixed martial artist who competes in the Flyweight division in Invicta FC. She fought for organizations like MMA Attack, Cage Warriors and Fighters Arena. In 2017, the year of her last recorded fight to date, she was ranked #2 in the world in the women's flyweight category.

Jan Przewoźnik (16 September 1957 — 31 July 2023) is a Polish chess player who won the Polish Chess Championship in 1979. FIDE International Master (1985).
