Vilho Henrik Lampi (July 19, 1898 – March 17, 1936) was a Finnish painter who is best known for his self-portraits and paintings of Liminka and the people who lived there.

Leo Antero Lastumäki (28 December 1927 – 29 January 2012) was a Finnish actor, born in Liminka. He worked in theaters, films and on television, often collaborating with Spede Pasanen. Lastumäki worked as a freelancer from 1973. He died in Kemi, aged 84.
Samuli Tuomikoski (6 July 1875 – 28 October 1960) was a Finnish farmer and politician. He was born and died in Liminka, and was a member of the Parliament of Finland from 1929 to 1933, representing the National Coalition Party.
Eero Yrjö Pehkonen (May 28, 1882 – February 27, 1949) was a Finnish politician, born in Liminka. He was a member of the Senate of Finland. Pehkonen was minister of agriculture of Finland from 1920 until 1921 and governor of the province of Oulu 1925–1948. He died in Oulu.
Yrjö Jooseppi Wichmann (8 September 1868 – 3 May 1932) was a Finnish linguist. He was a professor of Finno-Ugric language studies at the University of Helsinki in 1920–1932.
