Johanna Katriina Manninen (born 4 April 1980) is a Finnish former athlete specializing in sprinting events. She won two gold medals at the 2007 Summer Universiade, in addition to several medals in younger age categories.

Sanni Marja Anniina Utriainen (born 5 February 1991) is a Finnish javelin thrower. She won gold at the 2010 World Junior Championships and competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Hugo Olavi Niskanen (8 September 1920 – 4 December 2014) was a Finnish former long-distance runner who competed in the 1952 Summer Olympics. He was born in Kaavi.

Taisto Miettinen (born June 20, 1965) is an award-winning Finnish athlete. He has won the World champion gold medals for the Water Running 2004, Iron Bar Walking 2012 and Bog Snorkelling 2012 and Kicksled 2014 and was also the winner of the Wife Carrying World Championships in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 & 2013. He has been the oldest contestant, who has won World Championship in wife carrying. He has won 13 medals in wife carrying World Championship competitions. He has also won gold metal for Finnish championship of snowshoe running 2010, 2011, 2012 & 2014 and winter swimming 2010 and also silver in WC-competition and many Finnish champions in the sprint. Miettinen has reached a total of 10 World Championship titles, 19 World Champion medals, 11 Finnish Championship titles, 19 Finnish Championship medals, 9 foreign countries championships as well as 17 foreign countries championship medals, many number of other titles and records, as well as two world record time (water running 50m and Wife Carrying 100m). Paavo Edvard Kotila (August 26, 1927 in Veteli – January 26, 2014) was a Finnish long-distance runner, Olympian, and three-time national champion in the marathon (1955, 1956, 1961).

Topias Leinonen (born 25 January 2004) is a Finnish professional ice hockey goaltender who currently plays with JYP Jyväskylä of the Finnish Liiga. Leinonen was selected 41st overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2nd round of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.

Matti Kaleva Kekkonen (September 4, 1928 – July 3, 2013) was a Finnish politician and jurist, son of president Urho Kekkonen and author Sylvi Kekkonen.

Tristan Jeskanen (born February 5, 1996) is a Finnish-American Luger, holding citizenship from both nations but competing athletically for Finland. His father Sami Jeskanen moved from Lahti, Finland to the United States, where he currently teaches Canadian Studies at the State University of New York Plattsburgh. Tristan Jeskanen himself lived for some time at a younger age in Finland. He currently resides in Lahti, Finland.

Jussi Pekka Utriainen is a Finnish long-distance runner. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he competed in the Men's marathon, finishing in 69th place.

Niclas Sandells (born 14 March 1984, in Jakobstad) is a Finnish middle-distance runner. He competed in the 1500 metres competition at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
