Xenia Vladimirovna Fedorova, born on December 26 , 1980 in Kazan , Russia is a Russian journalist , president and news director of the RT France channel , French-speaking branch of the Russian international news channel RT.

Born in Kazan, from a father, a space engineer and a mother, journalist in the Soviet press and then in the government daily Rossiyskaya Gazeta . Influenced by her mother's job, she says: “My mother helped me choose my path. I imitated her by writing articles at the age of 13 or 15. I quickly understood that journalism would give me more freedom of action and expression. ┬╗ 1

Xenia Fedorova obtains an Executive MBA at the Berlin School of Creative Leadership (en) 2 in 2014. She is a TEFI-2008 finalist for the best news bulletin (nomination "news bulletin": "best television news devoted to events in Georgia ”).

She is mentored in her career as a journalist Margarita Simonian 3 .

From February 2006 to March 2007, she directed the international news service of RT 4 . From March 2007 to May 2009, she was executive producer of RT 4 .

From May 2009 to July 2012, she was director of the development and advancement office for RT media projects. In October 2010, she launched Russia's first English-language video agency RT Free Video.

In 2012, she became Chief Information Officer for Russia, the CIS and the Baltic States.

In 2014, she was Chief Information Officer in French. In 2015, she became director of the global press agency Ruptly , headquartered in Berlin.

In 2017, she became president of the company RT France 5 whose head office is located in Paris, which first operates a website and then broadcasts in France from December 18, 2017. As director of information, she defines the channel as "an alternative source of opinion, different from the mainstream French media" 6 .

On June 28, 2018, the RT France channel was put on notice by the CSA for "breaches of honesty, the rigor of information and the diversity of points of view" concerning a report on the war in Syria . RT France pleads an error in the audio editing of the testimony of a Syrian disputing the reality of chemical weapons attacks in the Syrian region of eastern Ghouta . Comments that the witness also made in the full version of the interview 7. Faced with the sanction, Xenia Fedorova denounces a form of censorship: “We do not agree with the CSA on this formal notice. The government is trying to scare the French public to censor a media that does not respect the prevailing opinion on certain subjects, such as the war in Syria ” 8 .
