Women Talking Dirty is a 1999 British comedy film directed by Coky Giedroyc and starring Helena Bonham Carter and Gina McKee. It is an adaptation of the novel Women Talking Dirty, written by Isla Dewar; who also wrote the screenplay. The film was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival on 17 September 1999 and released on 7 December 2001 in the UK. The screenplay concerns Cora, an aspiring biochemist and struggling single mother. She and Ellen, a shy divorced cartoonist, strike an unlikely friendship amidst their own personal betrayals and secrets.
