David Alan Grier, known during the early to mid 90's as one of the cast members on the sketch show In Living Color (1990), appeared in a very rare non-comedic role as Carl, the very abusive stepfather during the second segment.

The name "Duke Metger" is a combination of two notorious real life white supremacists, former Neo-Nazi/Klansman David Duke and Klansman turned White Aryan Resistance founder Tom Metzger.

This movie is a tribute to the British horror anthology films of the 60's and 70's. One of which is the original Tales From the Crypt, where this film draws its title from. A running theme among these films would be that several people would find themselves trapped in a mysterious place from which the stories would be told, and then after the final story, it would be revealed that everyone was in fact already dead and in Hell.

In some T.V. versions, instead of the charred remains of Carl laying in the casket at the end of "Boys Do Get Bruised" Walter is seen laying in the casket
