This is the second spin off film since Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008) and the first live action film spin-off since Ewoks: The Battle for Endor (1985), a television film released in 1985.

Hayden Christensen could possibly appear as Darth Vader and James Earl Jones voicing Darth Vader. This film is set after Revenge of The Sith also before A New Hope, so Darth Vader will appear due to the story of the film.
