This series consist of the history of fall of roman Empire.
Mehmed or Mehmet this name comes from the Arabic name Muhammad what is the name of the last Prophet of Abrahamic Religion Islam Muhammad (PBUH).
It is true that the Ottoman Sultan Mehmed II had Grand Duke Loukas Notaras and Grand Vizier Halil Pasha executed, but the orders were not carried out the same day Constantinople fell as the series portrays. Notaras was beheaded five days later along with a son and son-in-law during a banquet, while Halil was executed two or three months after the conquest of the city. Apparently, Notaras had revealed to the Sultan correspondence either he (Notaras) or the Byzantine Emperor Constantine XI had received from Halil.
Contrary to what's stated in this series, Constantinople had been conquered prior to 1453. In 1204, the army of the fourth crusade breached the sea walls of the city, and conquered Constantinople.
George Sphrantzes was the Emperor Constantine XI's personal secretary and friend. According to his own account of the conquest of Constantinople, his daughter Thamar (named Therma in the series) was 12 years old when the city fell and was taken into captivity by the Turks, dying in the Sultan's harem in September 1455 of an infectious disease. Therefore, the series inaccurately portrays her as having escaped to the island of Chios. There is also no evidence that Thamar and Giovanni Giustiniani Longo, the leader of the Genoese mercenaries, were in a romantic relationship.
