I even remember one night, Cher made an unannounced walk-on appearance on David Letterman's show, interrupting things to drop off some of those Laurie Davis hair products she was endorsing (and Letterman's show was goofing on her for it). Paul Shaffer asked if they could help with a "bad hair day," and she said he was having a "no-hair day." Richie had been sitting in with the band that night. Jon Bon Jovi came on later to sit down for an interview, and Letterman said he was worried things might be uncomfortable, because "Richie and Cher, you know...they DATED." Jon replied, "And I was the chaperone..."
