As a child, Parul was chubby but later got herself into shape.
She ran barefoot while in school and even competed in her first 800-meter race in 2011.
Parul relocated to Mumbai, Maharashtra in 2015, where she began working as a ticket examiner at the Grant Road railway station.
On May 9, 2021, Parul posted a picture with her mother to her Instagram.
In February 2024, she was featured in an editorial for Forbes India’s “30 Under 30 Class of 2024,” alongside the likes of Seethalakshmy Narayanan, Anushka Rathod, Varun Sanghi, and actress Rashmika Mandanna.
Parul is the first Indian woman to clock a sub-9 minute time in the women’s 3000m.
