Pamela Kuntzfrom Billings, Montana, is a professor in the Dance department at Western Washington University and the founder and artistic director of Kuntz and Company, a professional dance/theatre company.Whose missionis to tell the stories of our community through the arts, with the intention of gaining a better understanding of the human condition. With Kuntz and Company’s collaborating artists Pam has created 17 major works.Pam Kuntz dancedin NY, Boston, and Montana before moving to Bellingham, WA in 1999 to teach at WWU. Pam strives to guide her students to explore their own creative voice, discover habits and make choices.Pam’s teachingis most strongly informed by her training in the Alexander technique. Along with teaching at Western, Pam also teaches a class in the community for people living with Parkinson's disease and other neurological disorders.She is dedicatedto arts education for children and worked closely with OSPI by helping the state create assessments for both children (CBPAs) and educators (WEST-E).Pam was a founding memberof Bellingham Repertory Dance, a professional dance company in the community. She enjoys choreographing on WWU students in dance program concerts as well as in theatre department plays and musicals. She is the founderand Artistic Director of "Kuntz and Company" (kuntzandco.org) where she works with professional artists and community members to share the stories of our community through the arts.Pam has received fundingfrom The National Endowment for the Arts, The Washington State Arts Commission, the City of Bellingham, and others. Her choreography has been performed in WA, MT, MA, and WI and her work with WWU students was recognized by the American College Dance Association.She is an accomplishedscreendance artist with numerous films earning recognition at festivals across the country and Sweden.
