Nash Bridges' 1971 Hemi 'Cuda (Plymouth Barracuda) isn't, in fact, a 1971 Hemi 'Cuda. It's actually a 440 'Cuda done up to look like a Hemi 'Cuda with a Shaker hood (an option on 440s, but standard on Hemi 'Cudas) and a few Hemi emblems.

The script that Hunter S. Thompson and Don Johnson wrote and pitched to NBC was much darker than the series ended up, and wasn't particularly suitable for prime time. In it, Nash was a drug addict who was dating the daughter of a wanted San Francisco mafia figure.
