Matteo Guidicelli, transforms from race track star to primetime hottie. This Filipino-Italian hunk got his first taste of fame when he won various awards from his Kart racing stint. Little did he know that his racing career opened up other doors of opportunity in the showbiz arena such as singing, modelling and acting. Personally speaking, he could be mistaken as Billy Crawford’s younger brother. Turns out that among his showbiz peers, Billy happens to be one of his friends. His big break in television is in Agua Bendita. He plays the role Ronnie, the love interest of two warring sisters.
The 19-year-old Cebuano, who first shot to fame at the age of 14 as a racer with a promising future, has put the race track behind him (“It used to worry Mom,” he says, “when I would race.”) and is currently pursuing acting, taking up musical theater at Columbia College, a prestigious liberal arts college known for its performance classes — which Matteo has taken advantage of. “I took tap class and voice lessons,” he says of the previous semester. He’s more interested in Filipina girls who “grew up right” rather than his racier female cohorts over at school. When asked about them, he just shakes his head, wide-eyed.
