Marion Womble (often credited as Marrion Womble) was an African American model and dancer. He was a favorite of London based photographer Herb Schmitz. Marion was "much-praised for spurring the acceptance of men of color into mainstream fashion coverage; the African-American was used by Yves Saint Laurent to open and close his shows in this period. Womble was sometimes partnered by Schmitz with the striking blonde Barbara Trentham, who later married comedian John Cleese." Marion worked through Parisian modeling agencies, including Paris Planning Men.
