Kivanç Tatlituð was born in the city of Adana southern Turkey. His parents have four more siblings beside him. He was sent to Yenice Çað Private High School by his family where he excelled in basketball. Due to his father`s ill health, they later moved to Istanbul so his father could get the proper treatment. In Istanbul, he joined the Ülkerspor sports club as a basketball player.
Tatlituð was recruited by a modelling agency after his mother sent pictures of him. He won the "Model Of The World" modeling pageant in October 2001. Since then, he has worked as a professional model and actor. He also hosted some pageants and shows. A turning point in Tatlituð`s career was when The actor starred in "Gümüs" as the character Mehmet alongside Turkish actress Songül Öden who played the title role in the tv series. Just a year later after its final broadcast in Turkey, Mehmet became Mohannad in the popular dubbed version of the Turkish melodrama aka "Noor". The "AlArab Online" stated that the actor became "a heart-throb for many Arab women". He has also starred in other shows such as "Menekse ile Halil," where he played alongside Sedef Avci. In his latest TV series "Aþk-ý Memnu" he appears with Beren Saat. He won the Altýn Kelebek Award for Best Actor in a leading role for his performance in "Ask-i Memnu". Kivanç dated famous actress Meltem Cumbul who is 13 years his senior early 2009, but they broke up few months later in August of this year. He is now shooting the second season of "Ask-i Memnu".
He was dubbed "the Middle East`s Brad Pitt". He was chosen the "sexiest Turkish man alive" by the Turkish daily Hürriyet in July 2009.
