Katie Sugden (also Addyman and Macey) is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera, Emmerdale, played by Sammy Winward. She made her first screen appearance on 18 July 2001 and departed in 2005 when Winward took maternity leave, she returned in 2006. Winward took a break from the show in 2013, with Katie departing on 14 August 2013. She returned on 30 October 2013. On 28 November 2014, it was announced that Winward had quit the soap and would leave at the end of her contract. Katie died on 5 February 2015 when she fell through the floorboards after being pushed by her brother-in-law and ex-lover Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) and made her final appearance on 9 February as a corpse.
