The pictures, taken in 2007 by Karl Lagerfeld, included one of her "blacked up" with dark foundation and an afro wig. Claudia's representatives responded to the accusations by stating that the pictures, which included others of her dressed as characters such as a secretary and Marie Antoinette, were intended to depict her as a variety of fantasy figures.
