At age 18, Andy Elias was a DJ on the critically acclaimed college radio station WMUH 91.7 FM (Muhlenberg College), where he produced and hosted "The Short Fuse" rare groove and fusion jazz program on Wednesday nights from 10 PM to Midnight.


At age 20, Andy Elias was the lighting designer for Living Colour when they were still an emerging band playing the New York City club scene.


Andy Elias was the lighting designer for Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble at the time of SRV's death.


Jeff Beck gave Andy Elias the nickname "Lightman" during The Fire Meets the Fury Tour which was co-headlined with Stevie Ray Vaughan.
