Jim, Michelle, Stifler, and their friends reunite in East Great Falls, Michigan for their high school reunion.

At eight films, Eugene Levy has become the only actor to be in every film in the American Pie franchise.

Chris Klein did his own dancing for Oz's "Celebrity Dance-Off" routine. Klein went to dance workshops with choreographers as well as adding his own moves to fit with his character. However, his routine was shortened in the final cut.

Stifler calls New Moon his favorite book in the Twilight series; Chris Weitz (producer of American Pie (1999), and executive producer of American Pie 2 (2001), American Wedding (2003) and American Reunion (2012)) directed the film version, The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009).

In this film it's revealed that Jim's dad's name is Noah.

Michelle's (Alyson Hannigan) character is listed in the wish list as wanting to "improve on all talents flute-related", referencing her famous line from the original American Pie.

The first main "American Pie" film not to be written by Adam Herz. Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg wrote this script.

This is the first movie in the American Pie franchise that you see Stifler and his mother communicating with each other directly. Of the main cast Eddie Kaye Thomas is the only one who is actually class of 1999.

During the scene where Jim is talking to Kevin on the phone about the East Great Falls Class of 1999 Reunion. Kevin tells Jim to check the Facebook page and the number of "maybe attending" RSVP's is "69".

One person on the wish list says "I hope to be a vampire slayer". Alyson Hannigan was a co-star on Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997)

The only film that doesn't end with Finch having sex with Stifler's Mom.

Though they both appear in all the theatrical films in the "American Pie" series, this marks the first time that Jennifer Coolidge and Eugene Levy share any scenes together. In real life, the two actors are frequent co-stars and friends.

Was originally intended to be the final chapter in the American Pie saga.

Despite being featured on the main poster, Jessica (played by Natasha Lyonne) only plays a minor role as she makes a brief cameo during the reunion party.

A sex scene with Finch and Selena in the bathroom stall was filmed but cut.

This is the fifth time Eddie Kaye Thomas, 'John Cho' and Neil Patrick Harris (cameo appearance) star in a film together. Although Harris had an uncredited cameo in "American Pie 2", "American Reunion" is the fourth film written by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg to include the three actors after the "Harold and Kumar" films.

Michelle Flaherty (Alyson Hannigan) is the only main character without any reference to any kind of occupation. It is not even revealed if she is an housewife. -Jim works for Katz Lewn & Soben Advertising. Although it is never mentionned what is his actual job there.

Stifler is a temp at JB Global.

Oz is a sportscaster.

Kevin is an architect.

Finch eventually reveals he's an assistant-manager for Stapples.

Vicky has been working for the same company in New-York for the last 10 years. Although her job title and company are never mentionned.

Heather works at a hospital and has gone to med school but is never refered to as a doctor. So her job title is unclear.

Ron is a cardiologist.

Selena is a barmaid.

Mia is a model.

John Cho is drinking a Michigan-made beer called "Full Circle Kolsch" by New Holland Brewing Company when the other MILF guy comes back.

Neil Patrick Harris makes a cameo in the film. This is the second time that Alyson Hannigan and him have worked on the same production aside from How I Met Your Mother.
