The six most major religion are generally considered to be Hinduism, Judaism, Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, and Sikhism. this is because they have the largest numbers of followers and are practiced in many parts of the world, not just in the areas where they originated.
Those religions are dealt with in some detail,in date order.
