The Princess of Wales enchanted the High Peak and won the hearts of thousands of its residents during her visit to the area in June 1990.
The elegant Princess brought fairytale happiness to everyone who saw her at New Mills, Whaley Bridge, Dove Holes, Gamesley and Charlesworth.
Cheers rang out from the huge crowds, whose frantically waving flags made a sea of red, white and blue wherever she went in the borough.
To commemorate her visit the Thursday previous, the Buxton Advertiser of Wednesday June 20, 1990, published a three-page special.
