    Joud el Bayeh (also spelled Jud Bayeh or Judd Bayeh, Arabic: جود البايع or جود البائع) was a Lebanese Kataeb party leader, responsible for the area of Zgharta, in the North of Lebanon, who was assassinated on June 7, 1978, which is believed to have triggered the Ehden Massacre. Joud was the bank director of the Banque de la Méditerrannée (later became BankMed) in Chekka, president of the municipal council of Kfardlakos (a village in Zgharta) and vice-president of the Zgharta region of the Kataeb. An organization in his name has been created called Joud el Bayeh Foundation "مؤسسة جود البايع الخيرية".

    The Ehden massacre (Arabic: مجزرة إهدن‎) took place on 13 June 1978, part of the 1975–1990 Lebanese Civil War. It was an inter-Christian attack that occurred between the Maronite clans. A Phalangist squad attacked the mansion of the Frangieh family in an attempt to capture Ehden, killing nearly 40 people including Tony Frangieh, his spouse and his three-year old daughter, Jihane. After the massacre, the power of the Frangiehs is reported to have declined.

    Horsh Ehden is a Nature Reserve located in North Lebanon, it contains a particularly diverse and beautiful remnant forest of the cedar of Lebanon, making the reserve a very important part of the country’s cultural and natural heritage. Located on the northwestern slopes of Mount Lebanon and pampered by mist and relatively high precipitation, a multitude of rare and endemic plants that flourish in it. Stands of cedars are bordered by a mixed forest of juniper, fir, and the country's last protected community of wild apple trees. On a peaceful hike through the forest, the lucky visitor might spot an endangered eastern imperial eagle or Bonelli's eagle, a gray wolf, a wildcat, a Golden Jackal, or a Red Fox. The reserve's beautiful valleys and gorges, with their wild orchids, brightly colored salamanders, mushrooms, and other flora and fauna, are sure to soothe even the most harried visitor.

    Kadisha Valley (Arabic: وادي قاديشا‎), also romanized as the Qadisha Valley and also known as the Kadisha Gorge or Wadi Kadisha (French: Ouadi Qadisha), is a gorge that lies within the Becharre and Zgharta Districts of the North Governorate of Lebanon. The valley was carved by the Kadisha River, also known as the Nahr Abu Ali when it reaches Tripoli. Kadisha means "Holy" in Aramaic, and the valley, sometimes called the Holy Valley. It has sheltered Christian monastic communities for many centuries. The valley is located at the foot of Mount al-Makmal in northern Lebanon.
