The Romanian Superliga is the men's top Romanian professional water polo league.

The 2021 NCAA Men's Water Polo Championship occurred from December 4–5, 2021 in Los Angeles, California at the Spieker Aquatics Center. This was the 53rd NCAA Men's Water Polo Championship. Seven teams participated in this championship. Opening round game-one was played at Princeton University. The UCLA Bruins were the defending national champions and the 2021 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) champions. The rankings before the tournament: No. 1 University of California, No. 2 University of Southern California, No. 3 University of California Los Angeles, No. 4 Stanford University, No. 5 Long Beach State University.

The 2020 NCAA Men's Water Polo Championship occurred from March 18–21, 2021 in Los Angeles, California at the Uytengsu Aquatics Center. This was the 52nd NCAA Men's Water Polo Championship. Six teams participated in this championship. Although this was the 2020 championship, it was played in 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The rankings before the tournament: No. 1 Stanford, No. 2 California, No. 3 UCLA and No. 4 USC.

The Greek Women's Water Polo Super Cup is a Water Polo club competition in Greece since 2020. It is an annual match contested between the Greek A1 Ethniki Women Champion and the Cup Winner of the same year. The matches take place in different locations every time. Olympiacos has the most Super Cups.

The premier division of Russian water polo organized by the FVPR (Federacijaa Vodnogo Polo Rossij / Russian Water Polo Federation). First held in 1992-93, it is currently contested by twelve teams. Spartak Volgograd is the most successful club with 12 titles since 1997, followed by Dynamo Moscow with 9.

The Turkish Waterpolo League has been contested since 1942. The current champion is Enkaspor Waterpolo Team, from Istanbul.

The Championnat de France de water-polo is the premier category in the league system for water polo clubs in France. The men's championship was founded in 1896 by the French Athletic Sports Societies Union. Since 1921 the competition is organized by the newly founded French Swimming Federation. In 1983 the women's championship was founded.

The Russian Women's Water Polo Championship is the premier championship for women's water polo clubs in Russia. Founded in 1992 following the breakup of the Soviet Union, it is currently contested by ten teams.
