    Vincent Lee Chuan Leong (李泉梁 Lǐ Quánliáng) is a Singaporean ex-convict who made headlines for kidnapping a 14-year-old female student in 1999, together with two illegal immigrants from China. The trio abducted the teenager into their rented car, and they demanded a ransom of S$500,000 from the girl's father, who was a wealthy second-hand car dealer. Eventually, through negotiations, the ransom was lowered to S$330,000, and upon the agreement to the amount, the ransom was paid and the girl was subsequently released without harm.

    The Yishun triple murders case was a mass stabbing incident of three violent murders of three women in a rented flat in Yishun, Singapore in 2008. The suspect, Wang Zhijian, was the boyfriend of one of the two adult women living in the flat, and Wang, together with the victims, were from mainland China. Wang was alleged to have murdered both his girlfriend and her child, and tried to kill the other two tenants – also a mother-daughter pair – who lived in the next room. The daughter survived the attack but her mother was killed.

    Sunny Ang Soo Suan (洪书宣 hóng shūxuān; c.– 6 February 1967), alias Anthony Ang, was a Grand Prix driver and part-time law student who gained notoriety for the alleged murder of his girlfriend Jenny Cheok Cheng Kid near Sisters' Islands. Ang was charged and tried for murder in the High Court of Singapore solely based on circumstantial evidence and without a body, and his case attracted a lot of attention in Singapore and Malaysia given that he was the first to be tried for murder without a body in these two countries. Singapore was still a part of Malaysia, before its independence on 9 August 1965.

    Anthony Ler Wee Teang (c.– 13 December 2002) was a Singaporean convicted murderer who hired a youth to murder his wife, 30-year-old real-estate agent Annie Leong Wai Mun, who was in the midst of a divorce with him. Ler's motive was to become the sole owner of their flat and to gain custody of their four-year-old daughter. Ler approached five youths and offered them a reward of S$100,000 to kill Leong. A 15-year-old boy whom Ler had known for five years accepted the offer. Ler threatened and manipulated the youth to carry out the deed. After several failed attempts, the youth fatally stabbed Leong.

Pathip was arrested and charged with murder.

    On 1 December 1990, at Singapore's Tanjong Katong Road, a 20-year-old Malaysian woman named Wong Mee Hiong (王美香 Wáng Meǐxiāng) was stabbed to death inside her rented house and her body was wrapped in a blanket before being hidden in a storeroom. Wong's corpse was discovered by her fiancé and ten days after her killing, Wong's killer Yap Biew Hian (叶谋贤 Yè Mǒuxián), a fellow tenant of the house and also a Malaysian, was arrested for the case and charged. Yap, who admitted to killing the victim with intent to rob her, was sentenced to death three years after he murdered Wong.

    On 12 February 1991, a 78-year-old housewife Sukarti binti Amari was found murdered inside her Telok Blangah flat by her nephew and husband. Her eight rings, gold chains and other jewellery worth S$5,000 were missing from the flat. Two suspects were arrested at least three months later for Sukarti's murder. It was established that both the killers had planned to enter Sukarti's flat to commit robbery, and they devised using chilli powder to blind the deceased before restraining her and strangling her.

Osman, who also worked for the owner of the bungalow, was arrested and charged with two counts of murder the next day, when the bodies were discovered.

    On 26 February 1993, inside their matrimonial flat at Hougang, Singapore, a married couple were discovered dead by both their son and youngest daughter. The victims of the killings were 53-year-old Lau Gek Leng (刘玉龙 Líu Yùlóng) and 55-year-old Luke Yip Khuan (陆月晴 Lù Yuèqíng). It was determined that the killings were perpetruated due to a robbery, because the Lau family's television set and VCR were missing from the flat. On the same day, a neighbour of the couple, 38-year-old Jamaludin Ibrahim, was arrested as a suspect due to a spanner belonging to him was found at the crime scene and one of Jamaludin's six daughters having witnessed him stealing the said missing items from the murdered couple's flat.
