Amrullah Saleh (Dari/Pashto: امرالله صالح; born 15 October 1972) is an Afghan politician who is serving as the 1st Vice President of Afghanistan. He served as the Minister of Interior Affairs of Afghanistan until January 19, 2019, and as head of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) from 2004 until his resignation in 2010.

Sima Samar (Persian: سیما سمر‎) (born 3 February 1957) is an Afghan woman's and human rights advocate, activist and a social worker within national and international forums, who served as Minister of Women's Affairs of Afghanistan from December 2001 to 2003. She is currently the Chairperson of the Afghan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) and, from 2005 to 2009, United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Sudan[1]. In 2011, she was part of the newly founded Truth and Justice party. In 2012, she was awarded the Right Livelihood Award for "her longstanding and courageous dedication to human rights, especially the rights of women, in one of the most complex and dangerous regions in the world."

Abdul Rahim Hatif (Pashto: عبدالرحیم هاتف;‎ 20 May 1926 – 19 August 2013) was a politician in Afghanistan. He served as one of the vice presidents during the last years of the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan.

Sultan Ali Keshtmand (Persian: سلطان‌علی کشتمند‎), sometimes transliterated Kishtmand, born May 22, 1935, in Kabul, was an Afghan politician. He served twice as Chairman of the Council of Ministers during the 1980s, from 1981 to 1988 and from 1989 to 1990 in the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan.

Hajji Zahir Qadir is a member of parliament in Afghanistan. He formerly was a General in Afghanistan's Border Guard.

Maulana Mohammad Nabi Mohammadi (Pashto: محمد نبي محمدي‎ was an Afghan politician Afghan Mujahideen leader who was the founder and leader of the Harakat-i-Inqilab-i-Islami political party and paramilitary group. He served as Vice President of Afghanistan under the Mujahideen from 1992 to about 1996.

Abdul Rasul Sayyaf ( ahb-DOOL rə-SOOL sy-YAHF; Pashto: عبدالرسول سیاف‎, born 1946, Paghman, Kabul Province, Afghanistan) is an Afghan politician and former mujahideen commander. He took part in the war against the PDPA government in the 1980s, leading the Afghan mujahideen faction Ittehad-al-Islami (Islamic Union).

Mohammad Qasim Fahim (Dari: محمد فهیم‎, also known as "Marshal Fahim"; 1957 – 9 March 2014) was a politician in Afghanistan who served as Vice President from June 2002 until December 2004 and from November 2009 until his death. Between September 2001 and December 2004, he also served as Defense Minister under the Afghan Transitional Administration.

Abdul Rashid Dostum ( AHB-dəl rə-SHEED dohs-TOOM; Dari: عبدالرشید دوستم‎, Uzbek Latin: Abdul Rashid Do‘stum, Uzbek Cyrillic: Абдул Рашид Дўстум; born March 25, 1954) is an Afghan politician and Marshal in the Afghan National Army who has served as Vice President of Afghanistan from 2014 to 2020. An ethnic Uzbek, he is a former communist general and warlord known for siding with winners during different wars in Afghanistan. He is the founder of the political party Junbish-e Milli (National Islamic Movement of Afghanistan).

Younus Qanooni (Dari: یونس قانونی‎, born on 10 May 1957 in Panjshir Valley) is an Afghan politician who was Vice President of Afghanistan. An ethnic Tajik, Qanooni is the leader of the Afghanistan e Naween (New Afghanistan) political party and former Speaker of the House of the People (the lower house of parliament or Wolesi Jirga).
