V8 engines

The EMD 645 is a family of two-stroke diesel engines that was designed and manufactured by the Electro-Motive Division of General Motors. While the 645 series was intended primarily for locomotive, marine and stationary engine use, one 16-cylinder version powered the 33-19 "Titan" prototype haul truck designed by GM's Terex division

The Toyota R32V and R36V engine family are a series of turbocharged, 3.2-liter and 3.6-liter, 90-degree, four-stroke, V-8, gasoline racing engines, designed, developed and produced by Toyota for sports car racing; between 1988 and 1999. The engines were used in various Toyota sports prototype race cars.

The Toyota RV8 engine family is a series of race car engines designed, developed and produced by Toyota Racing Development. They come in 2.65-liter, 3.0-liter and 3.4-liter, turbocharged and naturally-aspirated, V8 racing engine versions. They are used in the CART series, IRL IndyCar Series, Formula Nippon, Super GT, and Le Mans Prototype sports car racing, from 1996 to 2015. The naturally-aspirated engine, formerly used in Formula Nippon and Super GT, is itself derived from the Toyota Indy V8 Indy car racing V8 engine.

The Honda turbocharged Indy V8 engine is a single-turbocharged, 2.65-liter, V-8 Indy car racing engine, originally designed, developed and produced by Honda, in partnership with Judd, for use in the CART championship series between 1986 and 2002.

The HB is a series of 3.5-litre, naturally-aspirated V8 Formula One racing engines, designed, developed and produced by Cosworth, in partnership with Ford; and used between 1989 and 1994. The customer engines were used by Benetton, Fondmetal, McLaren, Lotus, Minardi, Footwork, Simtek, and Larrousse.

Sonny Leonard (June 19, 1943 – January 10, 2021) was an American businessman and the CEO of Sonny's Automotive Racing, a company he founded in January 1969. Leonard was known for designing and building large engine displacement drag racing V8 engines. Leonard's engines have won numerous national and global records and championships on land and sea. In 2012 Sonny Leonard developed a big block engine over 16,387 cc (1,000.0 cu in).

VVT-i, or Variable Valve Timing with intelligence, is an automobile variable valve timing petrol engine technology manufactured by Toyota Group and used by brands Groupe PSA (Peugeot and Citroen), Toyota, Lexus, Scion, Daihatsu, Subaru, Aston Martin, Pontiac and Lotus Cars. It was introduced in 1995 with the 2JZ-GE engine found in the JZS155 Toyota Crown and Crown Majesta.

The Holden V8 engine, also known colloquially as the Iron Lion, is an overhead valve (OHV) V8 engine that was produced by the Australian General Motors subsidiary, Holden (GMH), between 1969 and 2000.

The Navistar T444E is a diesel V8 engine manufactured by Navistar International Corporation. In its use in Ford Motor Company trucks, vans, and school buses, it is the first of the Power Stroke family of diesel engines. The T444E was manufactured from 1994 to 2003, replacing the 7.3L IDI V8 designed by International Harvester. As a result of its inability to meet California noise regulations, the T444E was discontinued midway through the 2003 model year, replaced by the all-new 6.0L VT365. In total, nearly 2 million 7.3L Power Stroke V8s were manufactured for Ford at Navistar's Indianapolis, Indiana, plant before switching to the 6.0L.

The Lotus 900 series is a family of internal combustion engines designed and built by Lotus Cars of United Kingdom. Successor to the Lotus-Ford Twin Cam, the 900 was the first complete engine developed by Lotus. The engine was built from 1972 to 1999.
