Twins in Indian films

Ghajini is a 2008 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film directed and co-written by A. R. Murugadoss in his Hindi film debut. A remake of the director's Tamil film of the same name, the film stars Aamir Khan, Asin Thottumkal, Jiah Khan and Pradeep Rawat. In the film, Sanjay Singhania, a powerful entrepreneur, suffers from anterograde amnesia after a violent attack on him and his fiancée Kalpana. The film marks Asin's Hindi film debut and the penultimate film of Jiah Khan before her death in 2013.

Dhoom 3 (transl. Blast 3), stylised as Dhoom: 3, is a 2013 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film written & directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and produced by Aditya Chopra, who co-wrote the story. The film, which is the third installment of Dhoom series, stars Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra, Jackie Shroff and Katrina Kaif.

Rowdy Rathore is a 2012 Indian Hindi-language action film directed by Prabhu Deva and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ronnie Screwvala under the UTV Motion Pictures and Bhansali Productions banners. A remake of the 2006 Telugu film Vikramarkudu, based on an original story written by V. Vijayendra Prasad, it stars Akshay Kumar in double roles of a brave police officer and thief. The film also features Sonakshi Sinha, Gurdeep Kohli, Yashpal Sharma and Paresh Ganatra in supporting roles, while Nassar portrays the main antagonist. In the film, Vikram Rathore, a brave and honest police officer is killed by a gangster named Baapji. But his team replaces him with Shiva, a thief who happens to be his look-alike, to avenge his death.

Krrish is a 2006 Indian superhero action thriller film directed and produced by Rakesh Roshan. The film stars Hrithik Roshan in a dual role, alongside Priyanka Chopra, Naseeruddin Shah, Rekha, Sharat Saxena and Manini Mishra. It is the second instalment in the Krrish franchise and a sequel to Koi... Mil Gaya. In the film, Krishna Mehra, who has superhuman abilities like his father Rohit Mehra, falls in love with Priya and follows her to Singapore, where he takes on the superhero persona of Krrish and sets out to thwart the plans of the evil scientist Dr. Siddhant Arya, who is creating a supercomputer which shows the future.

Khiladi 786 is a 2012 Indian Hindi-language action comedy film directed by Ashish R Mohan. The film stars Mithun Chakraborty, Akshay Kumar, Raj Babbar, Asin in her penultimate acting credit, Himesh Reshammiya, and Mukesh Rishi. It is the eighth installment in the Khiladi film series.

Do Kaliyaan (transl. Two Buds) is a 1968 Indian Hindi-language film directed by R. Krishnan and S. Panju. The film stars Mala Sinha, Biswajeet, Mehmood, Om Prakash and Neetu Singh, credited as Baby Sonia. It is a remake of the 1965 Tamil film Kuzhandaiyum Deivamum which itself was based on the 1961 American film The Parent Trap, based on Erich Kästner's 1949 German novel Lisa and Lottie (German: Das doppelte Lottchen).

Paheli (translation: Riddle) is a 2005 Indian Hindi-language fantasy film directed by Amol Palekar and produced by Juhi Chawla, Aziz Mirza, Sanjiv Chawla, and Shah Rukh Khan, who also portrays the male lead. The film tells the story of a wife (Rani Mukerji) whose husband (Khan) goes on a business trip and is visited by a ghost, disguised as her husband, who is in love with her and takes her husband's place. The supporting cast includes Anupam Kher, Amitabh Bachchan, Juhi Chawla and Suniel Shetty. The core plot was inspired by the Rajasthani short folkloric story Duvidha by Vijayadan Detha which had earlier been adapted into the 1973 Hindi film Duvidha by Mani Kaul. It was also partially inspired by the 1997 Kannada movie Nagamandala based on the play of the same name by Girish Karnad. Though it has been observed that Paheli diverges from its source material and the earlier adaptations in giving the plot and its lead female character a more feminist agency.

Khiladi 420 (English: Player 420) is a 2000 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film directed by Neeraj Vora and starring Akshay Kumar and Mahima Chaudhry. The film was written by Uttam Gada and released on 29 December 2000. It is the seventh installment in the Khiladi series starring Kumar, which included Khiladi (1992), Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994), Sabse Bada Khiladi (1995), Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi (1996), Mr. and Mrs. Khiladi (1997) and International Khiladi (1999).

Judwaa (transl. Twins) is a 1997 Indian Hindi-language action comedy film, directed by David Dhawan, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and starring Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Rambha with Kader Khan, Dalip Tahil, Shakti Kapoor, Deepak Shirke, Anupam Kher, Satish Shah and Mukesh Rishi in supporting roles. It is a remake of the Telugu film Hello Brother (1994), which in turn is inspired from the Hong Kong action comedy film Twin Dragons (1992) starring Jackie Chan.

8 x 10 Tasveer (transl. 8 x 10 picture) is a 2009 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film written and directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, and produced by Percept Picture Company, starring Akshay Kumar and Ayesha Takia. In the film, an Alberta-based forest ranger uses his mental ability to enter a photograph and re-experience the events from a person's point of view to solve the mystery behind his father's death, believed to be caused by natural reasons.
