Tajikistani poets

Abdumalik Bahori (Tajik: Абдумалик Баҳорӣ, March 1927 Leninabad, USSR - 3 December 2010, Dushanbe, Tajikistan) was children's poet and the first Tajikistani fiction writer. He was born into a middle-class family who worked in the silk producing industry. He graduated from Leninabad Pedagogical Institute (now known as Khujand State University) in 1946.

Mirzo Tursunzoda (Tajik: Мирзо Турсунзода, 2 May 1911 — 24 September 1977) was an important Tajikistani and Soviet poet and a prominent political figure, full member (academician) of the Tajik Academy of Sciences, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Tajikistan, a member of the Union of Soviet Writers. Today Tursunzoda has been elevated to the level of Hero of Tajikistan.

Sadriddin Ayni (Tajik: Садриддин Айнӣ, Persian: صدرالدين عينى, also Sadriddin Aini; 15 April 1878 - 15 July 1954) was a Tajik intellectual who wrote poetry, fiction, journalism, history and lexicography. He is regarded as Tajikistan's national poet and one of the most important writers in the country's history.

Gulnazar Keldi (Tajik: Гулназар Келдӣ; 20 September 1945 – 13 August 2020) was a Tajikistani poet from Dardar and editor of the publication Adabiyet va sanat (Literature and Art). Keldi wrote the lyrics of Surudi Milli, the national anthem of Tajikistan.

Zulfiya Atoulloeva (Tajik: Зулфия Атоуллоева), also known under the pen name Zulfiya Atoy (Tajik: Зулфия Атоӣ), (born June 15, 1954) is a Tajikistani poet and journalist.

Golrokhsar Safi (Tajik: Гулрухсор Сафиева گلرخسار صفی‌اوا) (born 1947) is a prominent Iranologist, Persian literary figure and Tajikistan's national poet. In the late 1970s Golrokhsar Safi was an editor-in-chief of the newspaper Pioneer of Tajikistan.

Inoyat Hojieva (Tajik: Иноят Ҳоҷиева), mostly known as Farzona (Tajik: Фарзона) is a Tajik poet and writer. She won a lifetime achievement award.

Mulla Abdulkarim Sipandi Samarqandi (1829–1909) was a Tajik bilingual poet. He lived in Samarkand, in current-day Uzbekistan. His work consists of ghazal, qit'a, mukhammas, and ruba'i, which were written in the Tajik language. Samarkandi also wrote Hajvi kali Ibrahim.

Abolqāsem Lahūtī Russian: Абулькасим Ахмедзаде Лахути, Abuljkasim Ahmedzade Lahuti; Tajik: Абулқосим Лоҳутӣ / ابوالقاسم لاهوتی, Aʙulqosim Lohutī; 12 October 1887 – 16 March 1957) was an Iranian Kurd-Soviet poet and political activist who was active in Iran during the Persian Constitutional Revolution and in Tajikistan in the early Soviet era.

Khursheda Otakhonova (September 2, 1932 – June 23, 2016) was a Tajikistani poet and literary critic. Her poems were published under the mononym Khursheda.
