Annemarie Minna Renée Schwarzenbach (23 May 1908 – 15 November 1942) was a Swiss writer, journalist and photographer. Her bisexual mother brought her up in a masculine style, and her androgynous image suited the bohemian Berlin society of the time, in which she indulged enthusiastically. Her Anti-Fascist campaigning forced her into exile, where she became close to the family of novelist Thomas Mann. She would live much of her life abroad as a photo-journalist, embarking on many lesbian relationships, and experiencing a growing morphine addiction. In America, the young Carson McCullers was infatuated with Annemarie, to whom she dedicated Reflections in a Golden Eye. Annemarie reported on the early events of World War II, but died of a head injury, following a fall.

Sonja Sekula (8 April 1918 – 25 April 1963) (also known as Sonia Sekula) was a Swiss-born artist linked with the abstract expressionist movement, notable for her activity as an "out" lesbian in the New York art world during the 1940s and early 1950s.

Daniel Nicolas Garbade (born 1957 in Zurich) is a Swiss painter, illustrator, art director, property master, and publisher. Born in Switzerland from Swiss-Cuban origins, Garbade is the grand-nephew of Adrien Lachenal, great-grandchild of Cuban sculptor Fernando Heydrich, grandson of Theodore Garbade and cousin of sculptor Juan Esnard Heydrich.

Helen Dahm (May 21, 1878 – May 24, 1968) was a Swiss artist and a follower of the expressionist movement.

Emmanuel Tarpin (born 1992) is a French contemporary jewelry designer. Since 2018, he founded his self-titled atelier for high-end jewelry. He lives in Paris.
