Swimmers at the 1964 Summer Olympics

Dawn Fraser, AC, MBE (born 4 September 1937) is an Australian freestyle champion swimmer and former politician. She is one of only three swimmers to have won the same Olympic individual event three times – in her case the women's 100-metre freestyle.

Christine "Kiki" Caron (born 10 July 1948 in Paris) is a French former backstroke swimmer. She won the silver medal in 100 m backstroke at the 1964 Summer Olympics and the gold medal in the same event at the 1966 European Aquatics Championships. She also participated in the 1968 Summer Olympics where she was the first woman to carry the French flag at the opening ceremony. During her swimming career she won 29 national swimming titles. Her elder sister Annie was also a swimmer and competed at the 1960 Olympics.

Anita Lallande (born June 24, 1949) is a former member of the Puerto Rican Olympic swimming team, who holds the record for the most medals won at the Central American and Caribbean Games.

Donald Arthur Schollander (born April 30, 1946) is an American former competition swimmer, five-time Olympic champion, and former world record-holder in four events. He won a total of five gold medals and one silver medal at the 1964 and 1968 Summer Olympics. With four gold medals, he was the most successful athlete at the 1964 Olympics.

John Maurer Nelson (born June 8, 1948) is an American former competition swimmer, Olympic champion, and former world record-holder.

Fleming "Alex" Alexander (born 16 April 1945) is a former competition swimmer who represented Australia at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Alexander competed in the preliminary heats of the 400-metre individual medley, but did not advance; his time of 5:10.8 was the 16th-best at the Tokyo Olympics.

Linda Kay Ludgrove (born 8 September 1947) is a retired English backstroke swimmer.

Lorraine Joyce Thurlow, AM (born 1 October 1938), née Crapp, is a former Olympic swimming champion representing Australia. In world swimming history, Crapp earned a place as the first woman to break the five-minute barrier in the 400 m freestyle.

Sharon Marie Stouder (November 9, 1948 – June 23, 2013), also known by her married name Sharon Stouder Clark, was an American competition swimmer, three-time Olympic champion, and former world record-holder in four events.

Donna de Varona Pinto (born April 26, 1947), née Donna Elizabeth de Varona, is an American former competition swimmer, activist, and television sportscaster.
