Swedish scholars and academics

Karin Johannisson (11 October 1944 – November 2016) was a Swedish idea historian who was Professor of the History of Science and Ideas at Uppsala University. She was a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.

Fredrik Karl Kristian Högberg, born 5 February 1971 in Vellinge, Sweden, is a Swedish composer and producer. He resides in the old courthouse in Nyland, Ångermanland (mid-Sweden).

Thyra Ingrid Hildegard Detter de Frankopan (born 1936) is a Swedish scholar of international law, Lindhagen Professor Emerita at Stockholm University, a practising barrister, and the author of multiple books.

Bo Staffan Scheja (born 25 April 1950) is a Swedish pianist and professor. Scheja started studying piano at the age of nine and made his concert debut at the age of 14 with the Sveriges Radios symfoniorkester. He also performed with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra. He studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm 1964–1969 and 1969–1972 at the Juilliard School in New York with pianists Rosina Lhévinne, Ilona Kabos and Ania Dorfmann. In 1975, he was the awardee at the international Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition in Bolzano. For a number of years he lived in the US and performed in concerts at Carnegie Hall and at several head of state visits by Swedish dignitaries to the US.

Anna Dubois (born April 20, 1962) is a Swedish organizational theorist and professor of technology management and economics at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, and director of Chalmers Transport Area of Advance. She is best known for her work with Lars-Erik Gadde on case study research, boundaries of the firm, and managing suppliers interfaces.

Elisabeth Gerle (born December 8, 1951) is Professor of ethics with a special focus on human rights at Uppsala University and Ethicist at the Research Department, Church of Sweden. She has spent several years at Princeton University as visiting scholar first at The Center of International Relations and then at Princeton Theological Seminary. Since she returned to Sweden in 1995 she has lived in Lund and worked as senior ethicist and associate professor and lecturer at Lund and Malmö University in Ethics and Human Rights. During 2001–2005 she was dean of the Pastoral Institute in Lund. Her Lund office is situated at the Raoul Wallenberg Institute.

Ann Helen Heberlein (née Holmström; 22 June 1970) is a Swedish academic and author, who writes extensively on theology and ethics. She is best known for her autobiographical account of life with bipolar disorder, Jag vill inte dö, jag vill bara inte leva (2008; "I don't want to die, I just don't want to live").

Peter (Petre) Stoica (born 1949) is a researcher and educator in the field of signal processing and its applications to radar/sonar, communications and bio-medicine. He is a professor of Signal and System Modeling at Uppsala University in Sweden, and a Member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, the United States National Academy of Engineering (Foreign Member), the Romanian Academy (foreign honorary, since 1991), the European Academy of Sciences, and the Royal Society of Sciences. He is also a Fellow of IEEE, EURASIP, and the Royal Statistical Society.

Sara Maria Danius (5 April 1962 – 12 October 2019) was a Swedish literary critic and philosopher, and a scholar of literature and aesthetics. Danius was professor of aesthetics at Södertörn University, docent of literature at Uppsala University and professor in literary science at Stockholm University.

Pär Hallström (born 7 May 1947) is a Swedish legal writer and professor emeritus of Law at Umeå University. He graduated from Pantheon-Sorbonne University with a Diplôme d'Etudes Supérieures and holds a doctorate in law from Stockholm University.
