Jess Carr Gilbert, known as J. C. "Sonny" Gilbert (March 6, 1922 – November 21, 2014), was a cotton farmer and a former Democratic member of both houses of the Louisiana State Legislature from the town of Sicily Island in Catahoula Parish in northeastern Louisiana. Gilbert served three consecutive terms in the Louisiana State Senate from 1960 to 1972, having represented Franklin, Richland, and Catahoula parishes.

John Neely Kennedy (born November 21, 1951) is an American lawyer and politician who is serving as the junior United States Senator from Louisiana since 2017. A Democrat turned Republican, he previously served as the Louisiana State Treasurer from 2000 to 2017.

Rodney McKinnie Alexander (born December 5, 1946) is an American politician and member of the Republican Party who served as the Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs from September 30, 2013 until June 3, 2014. Previously he was the U.S. Representative for Louisiana's 5th congressional district from 2003 to 2013. First elected as a Democrat, he changed parties a half hour before the filing deadline on August 6, 2004. He was re-elected as a Republican five times. His district covered twenty-four parishes in roughly the northeast quadrant of the state but stretched much further south as a result of the 2010 census.

Rebekah Elizabeth Gee (born December 4, 1975) is an American physician and public health policy expert who served as the secretary of the Louisiana Department of Health from 2016 to 2020. Prior to her role as secretary, Gee was the Medicaid medical director; she previously served as the director for the Louisiana Birth Outcomes Initiative. Following her resignation, Louisiana State University announced that Gee had been appointed CEO of LSU Health New Orleans' Health Care Services Division.

James Burton Angelle, Sr., known as J. Burton Angelle or Burt Angelle (July 26, 1924 – August 27, 1997), was a businessman and Democratic politician from Breaux Bridge in St. Martin Parish in South Louisiana, who served from 1964 to 1972 as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives during the two administrations of Governor John McKeithen. He was the father of Scott Angelle, a Republican member of the Louisiana Public Service Commission and a 2015 candidate for governor of Louisiana.
