He was previously the Assistant Director of Football Operations for the West Virginia Mountaineers. He was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the seventh round of the 2004 NFL Draft. He played college football at West Virginia.

He has also been a member of the Birmingham Stallions of the United States Football League. Miller led the Minnesota Vikings in punt and kick return yardage in 1978.
