Sports coaches

A personal trainer is an individual certified to have a varying degree of knowledge of general fitness involved in exercise prescription and instruction. They motivate clients by setting goals and providing feedback and accountability to clients. Trainers also measure their client's strengths and weaknesses with fitness assessments. These fitness assessments may also be performed before and after an exercise program to measure their client's improvements in physical fitness. They should also educate their clients in many other aspects of wellness besides exercise, including general health and nutrition guidelines. It is very important that a trainer takes their time to evaluate a clients personal life outside of the gym. This way, personal trainers can figure out what kind of stress their client may be putting on certain areas of the body during their every day lives.

In sports, a coach is a person involved in the direction, instruction and training of the operations of a sports team or of individual sportspeople. A coach may also be a teacher.

In association football, a manager is an occupation of head coach in the United Kingdom responsible for running a football club or a national team. Outside the British Isles and across most of Europe, a title of head coach or coach is predominant.

Marc Spackman (born 7 February 1979 in Lincoln, England) is a former England and Great Britain Olympic swimmer who had a successful International career spanning 10 years. Formerly ranked in the World top 20 in the 200 metres Freestyle, he is a current professional Swimming Coach for The Royal Wolverhampton School Swimming Club.

Carlos Carbonell Pascual is the first Spanish judo coach to be in charge of another country's Judo team (Malta) with only 30 years old. He also has been the first Spanish coach to be awarded as a Level 5 Elite Performance Judo Coach by the European Judo Union. Carlos Carbonell studied a Bachelor of Science in Sports (specialized in Sports Performance) in one of the leading Sports Universities of Europe, the University of Bath in the United Kingdom where Olympic Champions like Amy Williams have studied. He was appointed to be the National Coach of the Maltese Judo team during 2007 and 2008.

Joan Joyce (August 18, 1940 – March 27, 2022) was the softball coach at Florida Atlantic University, following a record-setting career as a softball player for the Raybestos Brakettes and the Orange Lionettes. She also had set records on the LPGA Tour as a golfer and on the USA women's national basketball team, and was a player and coach for the Connecticut Clippers volleyball team.

Gervais Hakizimana (5 September 1987 – 11 February 2024) was a Rwandan track and field athlete and coach.

Shuna Matsumoto(松本 珠奈, Matsumoto Shuna, born July 27, 1985) is a Japanese association football coach of YSCC Yokohama. She is a trans woman.

Dorothy “Dottie” B. McKnight worked as the executive director of the United States Women’s Lacrosse Association and the National Association for Girls and Women in Sports, a university professor, a varsity coach, and an advocate for sex equity in athletics.

Jacob Michael Diebler (born October 28, 1986) is an American basketball coach and former player. Since 2019, he has served as an assistant coach at Ohio State.
