Spa towns in Hungary

Budapest is the capital and most populous city of Hungary. It is the ninth-largest city in the European Union by population within city limits and the second largest city on the Danube river. The city has an estimated population of 1,752,286 over a land area of about 525 square kilometres (203 square miles). Budapest, which is both a city and municipality, forms the centre of the Budapest metropolitan area, which has an area of 7,626 square kilometres (2,944 square miles) and a population of 3,303,786. It is a primate city, constituting 33% of the population of Hungary.

Esztergom (German: Gran; Latin: Solva or Strigonium; Slovak: Ostrihom, known by alternative names) is a city with county rights in northern Hungary, 46 kilometres (29 miles) northwest of the capital Budapest. It lies in Komárom-Esztergom County, on the right bank of the river Danube, which forms the border with Slovakia there. Esztergom was the capital of Hungary from the 10th until the mid-13th century when King Béla IV of Hungary moved the royal seat to Buda.

Bük is a town in Vas County, Hungary, close to the Austrian border. Nowadays it has a reputation for being a popular holiday destination in Hungary and one of the major spa and wellness spots in Central Europe.

Hévíz is a spa town in Zala County, Hungary, about 8 kilometres (5 miles) from the city of Keszthely.

Miskolctapolca or Miskolc-Tapolca (formerly Görömböly-Tapolca, planned to be Tapolcafürdő after gaining independence from Miskolc, in colloquial speech known as Tapolca) is a suburb of Miskolc, and is one of the most popular tourist towns of Hungary. Not to be confused with Tapolca town in Veszprém County.

Berekfürdő is a village in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok county, in the Northern Great Plain region of central Hungary.

Gárdony is a town in Fejér county, Hungary. It is located 55 km (34 miles) from Budapest, the capital of Hungary.

Bükkszék is a small village in the north of Hungary, near the town of Eger. It is located in Pétervására District of Heves County. The village became famous for its Salvus spa water in the middle of the 20th century.

Hajdúszoboszló is a town in Hajdú-Bihar county, Hungary, 19 kilometres (12 miles) southwest of county seat Debrecen. It is the third largest town in Hajdú-Bihar county.
