Gopal Subramanium (born c.) is an Indian lawyer, international arbitrator, academic and Senior Advocate who practices primarily in the Supreme Court of India and the Delhi High Court. He served as the Solicitor General of India 2009–2011 and Additional Solicitor General of India 2005–2009. He served as Chairman of the Bar Council of India 2010–2011.

Harish Salve is an Indian senior advocate who practices at the Supreme Court of India. He served as the Solicitor General of India from 1 November 1999 to 3 November 2002. He also fought the case of Kulbhushan Jadhav at the International Court of Justice (ICJ). On 16 January 2020 he was appointed as a Queen's Counsel for the courts of England and Wales.

Nitte Santosh Hegde (born 16 June 1940) is a former judge of the Supreme Court Of India, former Solicitor General of India and was Lokayukta (ombudsman) for Karnataka State of India from 2006-2011.

Soli Jehangir Sorabjee, AM (born 9 March 1930 - died 30 April 2021) was an Indian jurist and former Attorney-General of India. He had been honored with Padma Vibhushan for his defence of the freedom of expression and the protection of human rights. Sorabjee has held several offices in organizations of national and international repute.

Kirit Raval (died April 26, 2005) was an Indian attorney who served as the Solicitor General of India from 2002 until 2004. Raval served as an Additional Solicitor General of India from 1998 to 2002, when he succeeded Harish Salve as the Solicitor General. He, in turn, was succeeded by G. E. Vahanvati beginning in 2004. He was the first Solicitor General of India to hail from the state of Gujarat. He studied management at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. He died of cancer on April 26, 2005.

Niren De was an Indian Lawyer and was the Attorney General of India from November 1968 to March 1977 and it covered Indian Emergency. He was earlier the Solicitor General of India. He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 1974. He was also the Chairman of the Bar council of India.

Lavu Nageswara Rao is a Judge of Supreme Court of India. He is the 7th person elevated directly from the bar to the Supreme Court and was sworn in on May 13, 2016. He was a Senior advocate and a former Additional Solicitor General of India.

Rohinton Fali Nariman (born 13 August 1956) is a Judge of Supreme Court of India. Before being elevated as a judge, he practised as a senior counsel at the Supreme Court. He was appointed the Solicitor General of India on 23 July 2011. He also served as a member of the Bar Council of India. He was designated as a Senior Counsel by Justice Venkatachaliah (the then Chief Justice of India) in 1993 at the early age of 37.

Chander Kishan Daphtary ( 1 April 1893 – 18 February 1983) was an Indian lawyer and was the first Solicitor General of India from 1950 to 1963. He was the Attorney General for India from 1963 to 1968. He was the President of the Bar Association of India. He was nominated to the Rajya Sabha the Upper House of Indian Parliament from 1972 to 1978. He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 1967

Lal Narayan Sinha was a lawyer who served as the Attorney General of India between 9 August 1979 and 8 August 1983, and as the Solicitor General of India from 17 July 1972 until 5 April 1977. He was educated at Patna Law College, Patna University.
