Sigmund Freud

Sigmund Freud ( FROYD; born Sigismund Schlomo Freud; 6 May 1856 – 23 September 1939) was an Austrian neurologist and the founder of psychoanalysis, a clinical method for treating psychopathology through dialogue between a patient and a psychoanalyst.

Lucian Michael Freud, OM CH (8 December 1922 – 20 July 2011) was a British painter and draughtsman, specialising in figurative art, and is known as one of the foremost 20th-century portraitists. He was born in Berlin, the son of Jewish architect Ernst L. Freud and the grandson of Sigmund Freud. Freud got his first name "Lucian" from his mother in memory of the ancient writer Lucian of Samosata. His family moved to England in 1933 to escape the rise of Nazism. From 1942 to 1943 he attended Goldsmiths College, London. He served at sea with the British Merchant Navy during the Second World War.

Isobel Lucia Freud (born 17 April 1961), better known as Bella Freud, is a London-based fashion designer.

Lydia Marinelli (15 July 1965 - 8 September 2008) was an Austrian historian, editor, academic author and curator. She also displayed originality and flair as an exhibition organiser. Her speciality was the history of psychoanalysis. The most public aspect of her career involved her work as curator of the Sigmund Freud Museum in Vienna.

In the psychology subfield of oneirology, a lucid dream is a type of dream wherein the dreamer realizes that they are dreaming during their dream. The capacity to have lucid dreams is a trainable cognitive skill. During a lucid dream, the dreamer may gain some amount of volitional control over the dream characters, narrative, or environment, although this control of dream content is not the salient feature of lucid dreaming. Freudiana /ˌfrɔɪdiˈænə/ was to be the 11th album by The Alan Parsons Project, but during its development, Eric Woolfson decided to turn the album into a rock opera. It was released as simply "Freudiana," and is known as the "unofficial" Alan Parsons Project album. Alan Parsons continued as a solo artist with the 1993 album Try Anything Once, which was musically in a direction more or less continued from that of 1987's Gaudi.

Frederick Eckstein (February 17, 1861 in Perchtoldsdorf, Lower Austria – November 10, 1939 in Vienna) was an Austrian polymath, theosophist and a friend and temporary co-worker of Sigmund Freud. Emil Molt states: 'He was the benefactor of Bruckner and Hugo Wolf, indeed the right arm of Bruckner, taking care that affairs went smoothly. He was a world traveller, had mastered Jui-jitsu and taught himself all sorts of difficult tricks. The story went around that he had trained himself to jump off a fast moving train without getting hurt. He too, was a highly gifted mathematician and a learned man in many respects.'

The Freud/Jung Letters: The Correspondence between Sigmund Freud and C. G. Jung is a book, edited by William McGuire and first published by Princeton University Press in 1974, that compiles the 360 letters that psychoanalysts Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung wrote to each other from 1906 until their break in 1914.

The Sigmund Freud Prize or Sigmund Freud Prize for Academic Prose (German: Sigmund Freud-Preis für wissenschaftliche Prosa) is a German literary award named after Sigmund Freud and awarded by the Deutsche Akademie für Sprache und Dichtung (German Academy for Language and Literature). It was first awarded in 1964.
