The Federal University of Kashere, also known as FUKashere, is a public conventional university situated in the North Eastern part of Nigeria. The recently established university is situated in the small city of Kashere, an administrative territory of Pindiga, Akko local government in Gombe State, Nigeria. It was established in 2010 by the Goodluck Jonathan administration as one of the nine new federal universities created in the six geo-political zones of Nigeria. The university was established in a bid to increase access to education and also to ensure equity among all the States in Nigeria.

The Federal College of Education (Technical), Gombe was formerly known as National Technical Teachers College. Its a federal government higher education institution located in Gombe, Gombe State, Nigeria. The mandate of the college since its inception was producing technical, vocational and science teachers for primary and secondary schools in the Country. It is affiliated with Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University and the University of Maiduguri for its degree programmes. The provost is Dr. Ali Adamu (Boderi).

Gombe State University (GSU) is located in Tudun Wada, an area in Shamaki Ward, Gombe, Gombe State, Nigeria. It is located in the Northern part of Nigeria. It is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities. The state university has a Chancellor and 11-members of the governing council, as well as principal officers and management staff. Abdullahi Mahadi was the first vice chancellor of the university.

Gombe State School of Nursing and Midwifery was established under Gombe State University, Nigeria, in 2004 under the government of Governor Danjuma Goje, as a state-managed institution for the teaching of nursing and midwifery.
