It was released in 2010 through independent label Discobertas, and compiled by journalist Marcelo Fróes under Skylab's direct assistance. It contains 20 of Skylab's greatest hits, ranging from Skylab (1999) to Skylab VIII (2008).

    Skylab VIII is the eighth studio album by the Brazilian musician Rogério Skylab, the eighth in his series of ten eponymous, numbered albums. It was self-released on July 29, 2008; to promote the album's release, Skylab made an exclusive performance at the Cine Lapa in Rio de Janeiro. Skylab VIIIs liner notes state that it was dedicated to Marcos Petrilo, a long-time friend of Skylab who executive-produced his first two releases; he is also mentioned in the lyrics of "Meu Diário".

The track "Bocetinha de Cocô" previously appeared as a teaser on Skylab's EP Skylab, released the year prior.

    O Rei do Cu (Portuguese for "The King of the Ass") is the thirteenth studio album by the Brazilian musician Rogério Skylab, and the first installment of a planned trilogy, the "Trilogia do Cu" ("Trilogy of the Ass"). It was self-released on May 17, 2018, and sees Skylab returning to the experimental and eclectic sonority he had previously developed in his 1999–2011 Skylab series of 10 albums and abandoned in his latest "Trilogia dos Carnavais" (2012–2015). It can be downloaded for free in the musician's official website, and is also available for streaming in Spotify, Deezer and the iTunes Store.

It was self-released in 1992, and had its production financed thanks to a money prize Skylab won in a music festival one year prior. The track "Naquela Noite" would be re-recorded for his next release, Skylab. "Blues do Para-Choque" was re-recorded for Skylab III, "Casas da Banha" for Skylab VIII and "Palavras São Voláteis" for Melancolia e Carnaval.
