Sunyani is a city and the capital of the Sunyani Municipal District and the Bono Region of Ghana. The city is located about 105 miles (169 km) southwest of Kumasi and 300 miles (480 km) away from Accra. It is the sixth largest city in the country as of the 2010 census, with a population of 75,366 people. Ethnic groups such as the Akan, Northerner, Ewe, and Ga-Adangbe resided in the city along with others. As of 2024, the current mayor of the municipality is Hon. Ansu Kumi.

Kyeremasu or Cheremasu is a town in the Bono region of Ghana. Kyeremasu is situated northeast of Subinkrom and 8 km southwest of Wamfie. It is located at an elevation of 296 meters above sea level and its population amounts to 29,748. Kyeremasu currently has a King and queen mother. Kyeremasu is between Dormaa Ahenkro and Wamfie. The town can boost of Modern Police Station at Kyeremasu which serves the area and its neighboring communities to deal with security issues.

Banda Ahenkro is a town located in the west-northern of Bono region, Ghana, near the border of Ivory Coast. Its geography provided a home for numerous groups seeking shelter from across West Africa during the slave trade era. The original name of the settlement was Serminakuu meaning groups of 'grasses'. This name was changed to Banda, which is a corruption of 'Woanda' meaning 'they did not sleep'. Ancestors of Banda Ahenkro were allies of the Asante kingdom during wars and they provided a military force that virtually refused to sleep during at-war times. This is because they were predominantly Muslims and were found praying throughout the night. Later, 'woanda' was also corrupted by the Bono neighbours to become Banda. The settlement evolved to become the chief town or 'Ahenkro' within a collection of Nafana communities.

Japekrom is the Municipal Capital of Jaman South Municipality of the Bono Region of Ghana. It has been an important town since the colonial Gold Coast days in Ghana's History, then referred to as Pruano (on the riverbank of Pru-river) but spelled as Pulliano in colonial Gold Coast maps. The Japekromhene is part of Asanteman council. The township was built on a foundation of solid stone and as a result of resistance to any form of suppression or oppression. Traditional leaders of the Japekrom strongly uphold the principles of truth, fairness, hard work, a welcoming heart, inclusion and preservation of culture. The people of Japekrom are very welcoming of people from other tribes and cultures.

Fiapre is a town in Sunyani West District in the Brong-Ahafo Region of Ghana. Fiapre is very close to the regional capital town of the Brong-Ahafo Region, Sunyani.

Seikwa is a town located in Tain District, in Bono region (formerly Brong Ahafo), Ghana. As of 2010, Seikwa had a population of 9,166, consisting of 4,149 males and 5,017 females. The town is served by the Nkoranman Senior Secondary School.

Abesim is a town in Sunyani Municipal District in the Bono Region of Ghana. Abesim is very close to the regional capital town of the Bono Region, Sunyani. Abesim is known for the St. James Seminary and Secondary School. It is also known for the Olistar Senior High School and Abesim Senior High School. The school is a second cycle institution.

Wamanafo is a town in the Bono region of Ghana. The town is known for the Wamanafo Commercial Day Secondary Technical School. The school is a second cycle institution.

Wenchi is a town and the capital of Wenchi Municipal of the Bono Region in the middle-belt of Ghana. Wenchi is located at 7.73333 [latitude in decimal degrees], -2.1 [longitude in decimal degrees] at an average elevation/altitude of 304 meters. Wenchi is approximately 30 km north of Techiman and about 50 km east of the Ivory Coast border. Wenchi has a population of 39,187 people in 2013.

Dormaa Ahenkro is a town and also the capital of Dormaa Traditional Area Dormaa Municipal of the Bono Region, in Ghana. Dormaa Ahenkro has a historical reference for their brave warlords. Dormaa Ahenkro is the capital for the Dormaa traditional area and serves as the seat of the Paramount chief Oseadeeyo Nana Agyeman Badu II.
