Antti Akseli Laaksonen (born October 3, 1973) is a Finnish former professional ice hockey left winger who last played for the Lukko of the SM-Liiga. Antti had a seven-year NHL career, mostly as a third line wing and penalty killer for the Boston Bruins, Minnesota Wild and Colorado Avalanche.

Niilo Mikael Ryhtä (26 September 1906 – 10 August 1995) was a Finnish politician, born in Tammela. He served as Minister of the Interior from 8 February to 18 December 1963 and from 12 September 1964 to 27 May 1966 and as Deputy Minister of Communications from 27 May 1966 to 31 August 1967. Ryhtä was a Member of the Parliament of Finland from 1948 to 1967, representing the Agrarian League, which renamed itself the Centre Party in 1965. He served as Governor of Oulu Province from 1967 to 1973.

Rabbe Arnfinn Enckell (3 March 1903 – 17 June 1974) was a Finnish author, writer and poet. Enckell is regarded as one of the stalwarts of the Swedo-Finnish poetic revival that began in the 1920s.

Elias Seppänen (born 31 October 2003) is a Finnish racing driver and is currently driving in the ADAC Formula 4 Championship.

Ulla Margit Rantala (born 1 May 1957 in Tammela) is a Finnish archer.

Eero Laine (7 January 1926 – 23 October 1998) was a Finnish biathlete. He competed in the 20 km individual event at the 1960 Winter Olympics.

Akseli Jalmari Nikula (29 October 1884 – 14 January 1956) was a Finnish psychiatrist and politician, born in Tammela. He served as a Member of the Parliament of Finland, representing the Young Finnish Party from 1913 to 1916 and the National Progressive Party from 1940 to 1945. Nikula was the chairman of the National Progressive Party from 1947 to 1950. In the 1950s, he was the vice-chairman of the Liberal League.

Eino Nikolai Kujanpää (16 January 1904 - 11 June 1980; original surname Syrjänen) was a Finnish construction worker and politician. He was born in Tammela. He became a communist as a young man and in the late 1920s he went to the Soviet Union, where he studied at the International Lenin School and at the Communist University of the National Minorities of the West. He returned to Finland in 1936, was soon arrested and spent the years 1937 to 1940 and 1941 to 1944 in prison for political reasons. He was freed in 1944, when the Communist Party of Finland (SKP) was legalised as a result of the Moscow Armistice of 19 September 1944. He was then elected to the Parliament of Finland, where he represented the Finnish People's Democratic League (SKDL) from 1945 to 1951.

Jouko Kajanoja (born 1942) is a Finnish economist and politician who served as minister of labour between 1981 and 1982. He was a member of the Communist Party which he headed from 1982 to 1984.
