Elvis Aaron Presley (January 8, 1935 – August 16, 1977), also known simply as Elvis, was an American singer and actor. Dubbed the "King of Rock and Roll", he is regarded as one of the most significant cultural icons of the 20th century. His energized interpretations of songs and sexually provocative performance style, combined with a singularly potent mix of influences across color lines during a transformative era in race relations, led him to both great success and initial controversy.

Ambrose Jessup (A.J.) Tomlinson (September 22, 1865 – October 2, 1943), a former Quaker, united with the Holiness Church at Camp Creek in 1903. With his drive, vision, and organizational skills, he was elected the first general overseer of the Church of God (Cleveland, Tennessee) in 1903. He also served as the first president of the church's Lee College, later known as Lee University (1918–1922). In 1923, Tomlinson was impeached, causing a division which led to the creation, by followers of Tomlinson, of what would become the Church of God of Prophecy.

George Went Hensley (May 2, 1881 – July 25, 1955) was an American Pentecostal minister best known for popularizing the practice of snake handling. A native of rural Appalachia, Hensley experienced a religious conversion around 1910: on the basis of his interpretation of scripture, he came to believe that the New Testament commanded all Christians to handle venomous snakes.

James Oglethorpe Patterson, Jr. (28 May 1935 – 25 June 2011) was a Bishop in the Church of God in Christ and a former Mayor of Memphis, Tennessee.

Rickie D. Moore, Ph.D., is a noted theologian within the Pentecostal movement. He is now the Associate Dean of the Lee University School of Religion.

Rufus Hollis Gause (July 1, 1925 – September 6, 2015), known as Dr. Hollis Gause, was a leading Pentecostal theologian in the Church of God (Cleveland). Gause began his teaching career in 1947 at Lee College (Cleveland, Tennessee). He became the first dean and director of the Church of God School of Theology in 1975. Gause served as president of the Society for Pentecostal Studies from 1971 to 1972. Gause also Pastored The Warren Church of God in Warren, Michigan (Now known as The Maranatha Church of God) from 1982–1984.

Micah Andrew Massey (born June 30, 1987) is an American Christian musician and worship leader, who is mainly a songwriter, guitarist, and composer. He has won a Grammy Award at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards, with Israel Houghton.

Charles Paul Conn (born December 23, 1945) is President of Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee.

John Christopher Thomas (born c. 1955) is a theologian within the Pentecostal movement and the Clarence J. Abbott Professor of Biblical Studies at the Pentecostal Theological Seminary.
