Rosie Swale-Pope, MBE (born 2 October 1946) is a Irish-Swiss author, adventurer and marathon runner who successfully completed a five-year around-the-world run, raising £250,000 for a charity that supports orphaned children in Russia and to highlight the importance of early diagnosis of prostate cancer. Other achievements include sailing single-handed across the Atlantic in a small boat, and trekking 3,000 miles (4,800 km) alone through Chile on horseback.

Tony Mangan (born 20 April 1957 in Dublin) is an ultra distance runner from Ireland. He completed on 27 October 2014 a 50 000 km distance running around the world for Aware, a charity helping to defeat depression. He is the current world 48 hour indoor track record holder 426.178 km. Also the world 48 hour treadmill record 405.22 km. Mangan states, "I didn't start running till I was almost 30. Then I dreamed of running around the World. I got delayed for over 20 years for many reasons, breaking a few world ultra records. Now I am retired from competition I can finally live my dream."

Dave Kunst (born July 16, 1939 in Caledonia, Minnesota) is the first person independently verified to have walked around the earth. The walk was intended to be achieved along with his brother John, but in the event John was shot and killed by bandits, and Dave wounded; Dave resumed and completed the walk with another brother, Peter. His walk was officially stated to be 14,452 miles.

Karl Bushby (born 30 March 1969) is a British ex-paratrooper, walking adventurer and author, currently attempting to be the first person to completely walk an unbroken path around the world. Bushby's trek is known as the Goliath Expedition.

Ffyona Campbell (born 1967 in Totnes, Devon) is an English long distance walker who walked around the world. She covered 32,000 kilometres (20,000 mi) over 11 years and raised £180,000 for charity. She wrote about her experience in a series of three books.

Arthur Owen Blessitt (October 27, 1940 – January 14, 2025) was an American traveling Christian preacher who was known for carrying a cross through every nation of the world.

Tom Denniss (born 24 February 1961) is an Australian athlete, inventor, scientist, and entrepreneur. A Doctor of Mathematics and Oceanography, he also played professional rugby league, was a finalist in the Australian of the Year Award, and in 2013 set a new world record for the Fastest Circumnavigation of the Earth on Foot. In October 2016, Denniss co-founded Wave Swell Energy with a technology expected to make wave energy commercially viable for the first time.

Harry Lee McGinnis popularly known as Hawk (born August 28, 1927), is an American traveler doing a 129,000 km around-the-world walking tour. He started in Dublin's St. Patrick's day parade of 1992, and by March 2008 has completed 66 countries.

Robert Garside (born 6 January 1967), calling himself The Runningman, is a British runner who is credited by Guinness World Records as the first person to run around the world. Garside began his record-setting run following two aborted attempts from Cape Town, South Africa and London, England. Garside set off from New Delhi, India on 20 October 1997, completing his run back at the same point on 13 June 2003.

Colin Skinner (born 1965) is a British author, adventurer and molecular biologist who is attempting to walk around the world. As of mid-2014, he has walked over 14,500 miles (23,300 km) and has crossed Great Britain, Iceland, United States and New Zealand. He has used the walks to raise money and awareness for various causes, including conservation biology, people with disabilities, cancer relief, AIDS, and hospice.
