Govind Madhav Solegaonkar (1912–1986) was a versatile artist who created works on murals, portraits, landscapes and abstract paintings.

Dinanath Bhargava (1 November 1927 – 24 December 2016) was an Indian painter of international fame. He was one of the students of Shantiniketan art guru Nandalal Bose. WASH Paintings made by him are unique in the world of painting.

Jangarh Singh Shyam (1962–2001) was a pioneering contemporary Indian artist credited with being the creator of a new school of Indian art called Jangarh Kalam. His work has been exhibited widely the world over including Bhopal, Delhi, Tokyo and New York. His most notable exhibitions include the Magiciens de la terre in Paris (1989) and Other Masters curated by Jyotindra Jain at the Crafts Museum, New Delhi (1998). His 1988 piece Landscape with Spider sold for $31,250 at Sotheby’s, New York, in 2010—a first for an adivasi artist. Jangarh had also painted the interiors of the Legislative Assembly of Madhya Pradesh, the Vidhan Bhavan, and the dome of Bhopal’s Bharat Bhavan—one of the most prestigious museums of tribal and contemporary Indian art. He was among the first Gond artists to use paper and canvas for his paintings, thereby inaugurating what is now known as Jangarh Kalam.

Beohar Rammanohar Sinha (15 June 1929 – 25 October 2007) was an Indian artist of bihar origin who is very well known for his illustrations in the original final manuscript of Constitution of India, including the complete Preamble-page, which was brought to fruition in 1949 as one of the most beautiful Constitutions in the world in addition to being the most comprehensive one. He is also known as a cultural ambassador of India who disseminated Indian art in the Far East, and brought Oriental Art to India. His works are housed in numerous prestigious public and private collections throughout the world and his murals still adorn the walls and gigantic dome of Jabalpur’s historic Shaheed-Smarak or Martyrs’-Memorial Auditorium even after more than half a century, though now demanding conservation.

Wajid Khan (born 10 March 1981) is an Indian artist, portraitist, sculptor, inventor and patent holder. He has specialized in carving canvas with nails. Recognizing his outstanding nail art, Khan was named in the Guinness Book of World Records, Limca Book of Records, and Asia Book of Records.

Mahasundari Devi (15 April 1922 – 4 July 2013) was an Indian artist and Madhubani painter. She was awarded the Tulsi Samman by the Government of Madhya Pradesh in 1995, and in 2011 she received the Padma Shri award from the Government of India.

Pratiksha Apurv is an Indian painter, whose work is based on her uncle Osho's teachings. Before moving to painting, she was a successful fashion designer. Apurv won the National Award 2015-16 given by the Lalit Kala Akademi, Ministry of Culture for her painting 'Cosmic Balance', and has exhibited her artwork across the country. Her artwork has featured in books and magazines, and in 2018 she wrote and illustrated her own book, The Mystic and Her Colours.

Sachida Nagdev (25 October 1939 – 29 May 2017) was an Indian painter based in central Indian town of Bhopal.

Sayed Haider Raza (22 February 1922 – 23 July 2016) was an Indian painter who lived and worked in France since 1950, while maintaining strong ties with India. He was born in Kakkaiya (District Mandla), Central Provinces, British India, which is now present-day Madhya Pradesh.
