The Washington D.C. Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) is a group of film critics based out of Washington, D.C. that was founded in 2002. WAFCA is composed of nearly 50 DC-based film critics from television, radio, print and the internet. The group annually gives awards to the best in film as voted on by its members.

Gopali Youth Welfare Society, known as GYWS, is a government-registered non-governmental organization in West Bengal. It was founded in 2002 and registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act, 1961 on April 20, 2005. It is run by IIT Kharagpur students under the guidance of IIT Kharagpur professors and Gopali village residents. The main areas that GYWS focuses on are child education, women empowerment, and the abolition of child labor. It has launched a free education initiative, social awareness drives, and vocational training programs.

The Drexel Plasma Institute, in Camden, New Jersey, is the largest university-based plasma research facility in the United States of America. Led by Drexel University, the members of the scientific team are from University of Illinois at Chicago, Argonne National Laboratory, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and Kurchatov Institute of Atomic Energy. The primary fields of research are applications in medicine, Environmental Control, energy, and agricultural industries. The institute actively develops and researches specific types of plasma discharges such as gliding arc, dielectric barrier discharge, gliding arc tornado, reverse vortex flow, Pulsed Corona Discharge, and many more.

The American Institute For Roman Culture is a non-profit organization with classrooms located in Naples, Florida, United States and Rome, Italy, to provide students with a full immersion into modern Italian culture while learning about the past.

The Restaurant Opportunities Centers United (ROC) is a not-for-profit organization and worker center with affiliates in a number of cities across the United States. Its mission is to improve wages and working conditions for the nation's low wage restaurant workforce. Its tactics and strategy have drawn fire from business groups and restaurant industry lobbyists.

SaBRE (Supporting Britain's Reservists and Employers) is a government sponsored organisation established in 2002. It was set up "with the belief that if an employer understands the role of Reservists and is aware of the skills they develop their support for their Reserve Forces employees will be that much greater". It is a section of the Ministry of Defence.

The organization began operations in January 2002. Microsoft founder Bill Gates was one of the first private foundations among many bilateral donors to provide seed money for the partnership.
